In her artistic practice, Stephanie Stern engages with the translation of images into different visual techniques and systems, as well as the relationships between people, materials, form and technology. Through her drawings, photographs, assemblages and installations, she subtly explores social norms and interpersonal relationships across cultural boundaries. In her work, Stern focuses on the immediate circumstances of materials and boundaries, as well as collaborative survival based on the merging of people and materials.
