Roots Are Tongues That Speak a Million Angry Languages
Lucila Pacheco Dehne

curatorial support: Bettina Siegele

The exhibition Roots Are Tongues That Speak a Million Angry Languages by artist Lucila Pacheco Dehne explores the history of migration of plants and the colonial, political, and economic power structures that continue to shape their movements to this day. The sculptural plant forms refer to the contradictions of a European policy that classifies plants and regulates their expansion, as well as to linguistic similarities with an increasingly xenophobic policy. Roots Are Tongues That Speak a Million Angry Languages is part of the annual programme Under Pressure, curated by Bettina Siegele.
